IIT JEE Advanced 2025 Score Card

The IIT JEE Advanced 2025 Score Card is one of the most awaited documents for lakhs of engineering aspirants across India. It not only reflects a candidate’s performance but also determines eligibility for admission to the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and other premier engineering colleges. In this article, we will guide you through everything you need to know about the scorecard — from how to download it, what information it contains, important points to remember, and the next steps after result declaration.

What is the IIT JEE Advanced Score Card?

The scorecard is the official document released by the JEE Advanced conducting authority (likely IIT Kanpur or IIT Bombay in 2025). It shows the candidate’s performance in both Paper 1 and Paper 2 of the exam, total marks, subject-wise scores, rank (if qualified), and category-based rankings if applicable.

This scorecard is mandatory during counseling, seat allocation, and final admission in IITs and other participating institutes. It’s advisable to download and preserve multiple copies of it for future reference.

What Does the Score Card Contain?

Here are the key components included in the JEE Advanced scorecard:

  • Candidate’s Name and Roll Number

  • Date of Birth

  • Category and Gender

  • Photograph (uploaded during registration)

  • Subject-wise Marks (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics)

  • Total Marks Secured

  • Common Rank List (CRL) Rank

  • Category Rank (OBC-NCL, SC, ST, etc.)

  • Qualifying Status

  • Instructions for JoSAA Counseling

Minimum Marks Required to Qualify (Based on Previous Years)

To qualify for IIT admission, a candidate must secure minimum qualifying marks in each subject and an overall aggregate. These marks vary every year depending on the difficulty level of the paper and number of test-takers. For example:

  • General Category: Around 90–95 aggregate marks (out of 360)

  • OBC-NCL: 80–85

  • SC/ST: 45–55

(Exact cutoffs for 2025 will be released along with the result.)

What If You Did Not Qualify?

If a candidate does not qualify in JEE Advanced, they can still explore other top engineering colleges such as:

  • IIITs (through JEE Main)

  • NITs (through JEE Main)

  • State-level engineering colleges

  • Private universities with scholarships based on JEE scores

Additionally, it’s important to stay positive and consider attempting the exam again next year if eligible.

JoSAA Counseling and Further Process

Once the scorecard is released, qualified candidates must participate in the JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) counseling process. Here's a quick rundown:

  1. Register on the JoSAA portal

  2. Fill in choices of IITs and branches

  3. Lock preferences before the deadline

  4. Check seat allotment results

  5. Accept the seat and upload documents

  6. Pay seat confirmation fee

  7. Report to the allotted institute for physical verification

Important: Keep your scorecard, admit card, and original documents ready.
