How to Download UPPSC RO/ARO 2023 Answer Key

Follow the step-by-step guide below to access your answer key without confusion:

  1. Visit the Official UPPSC Website: Go to https://uppsc.up.nic.in.

  2. Navigate to the Notifications Section: On the homepage, locate the link titled ‘Click here to view RO/ARO Preliminary Exam 2023 Answer Key’ under the latest updates or notices.

  3. Choose Your Booklet Series: The answer key is usually available for different sets — A, B, C, and D.

  4. Download the PDF: Click on the corresponding link to open and download your answer key.

  5. Save for Reference: Keep a digital or printed copy for score estimation and objection filing.

How to Calculate Your RO/ARO Score

To calculate your expected score in the prelims exam:

  • Award 1 mark for each correct answer.

  • For incorrect answers, deduct 0.33 marks (as negative marking is applicable).

  • Unattempted questions carry zero marks.

  • Total your correct answers and subtract the penalty for wrong ones to estimate your net score.

This approximate score will help you assess whether you are close to or above the expected cutoff.

How to Raise Objections (If Needed)

If you find any error in the answer key, UPPSC gives candidates a chance to raise objections through a structured process. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Login to the Objection Portal: Visit the UPPSC website and log in with your registration credentials.

  2. Access the Objection Form: Find the relevant link to the “Answer Key Objection Form” under your dashboard.

  3. Choose the Question: Select the question you want to challenge and mention the booklet series.

  4. Upload Supporting Documents: Attach a valid reference (from textbooks, syllabus materials, or official sources) justifying your claim.

  5. Submit the Objection: Ensure that you submit it within the specified deadline, usually within 3–5 days after the release of the provisional answer key.

Objections without valid references may be rejected. Once reviewed, any necessary corrections will be made in the final answer key.

What Happens After Objections?

After the objection window closes, UPPSC will review all submissions and publish a final answer key. This key will be considered for evaluating all candidates' responses and preparing the result and merit list for the prelims exam.

Candidates who score above the cutoff will be shortlisted for the RO/ARO Mains 2023 examination, the next critical stage in the selection process.

Expected Cut-Off and Result Declaration

While the official cutoff for RO/ARO 2023 will be released with the result, based on previous years, candidates scoring between 90–105 marks (depending on the category and paper difficulty) may expect to be in the safe zone.

The result is typically declared 3 to 4 weeks after the final answer key release. Keep checking UPPSC’s official website for updates.

What to Do After the Answer Key?

  1. Evaluate Your Score: Calculate based on the official key and exam pattern.

  2. Start Mains Preparation: If you're confident about clearing prelims, begin preparing for the Mains exam without delay.

  3. Track Official Updates: Regularly visit uppsc.up.nic.in to stay informed about result dates and Mains schedule.

  4. Keep Your Documents Ready: You'll need original ID, admit card, and academic documents for the Mains and document verification phases.
