GATE 2026 Admit Card – Job & Exam Overview

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026 Admit Card has been officially released. Candidates who successfully submitted the application form can now download their admit card to appear in the examination scheduled in February 2026.

GATE is a national-level examination conducted for admission to postgraduate programs and for recruitment opportunities in public sector undertakings. Every year, lakhs of engineering, science, and technology graduates appear in this exam, making it one of the most competitive examinations in India.

Important Dates – GATE 2026 Examination

The online application process for GATE 2026 started on 28 August 2025. The last date to apply without late fee was 07 October 2025, while applications with late fee were accepted until 13 October 2025.
The GATE 2026 examination will be conducted on 07, 08, 14, and 15 February 2026 in multiple sessions. The admit card was released on 13 January 2026 and is now available for download. The result is scheduled to be declared on 19 March 2026.

Application Fee Details

For Phase-I registration, General, OBC, and EWS candidates were required to pay ₹2000, while SC, ST, PwD, and all female candidates paid ₹1000.
During the extended Phase-II period, the application fee increased to ₹2500 for General, OBC, and EWS candidates, and ₹1500 for SC, ST, PwD, and female candidates.
Payments were accepted through online modes such as debit card, credit card, internet banking, IMPS, and approved digital wallets.

Age Limit for GATE 2026

There is no upper or lower age limit for appearing in the GATE 2026 examination. Candidates of any age can apply, provided they meet the educational eligibility criteria.

Candidates must have passed or be appearing in any of the following degrees from a recognized institution:
Eligible qualifications include BE, B.Tech, B.Pharma, B.Arch, B.Sc (Research), M.Sc, MA, MCA, ME, M.Tech, dual degree, or integrated programs.
