Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet all educational and professional requirements as of 01 January 2026.
For Clinical and Non-Clinical Assistant Professor posts, candidates must possess a Postgraduate medical degree such as MD, MS, or DNB in the relevant specialty from institutions recognized by MCI or NMC.
For Super Specialty Assistant Professor posts, candidates must hold DM, MCh, DNB, or DrNB qualifications in the concerned super specialty from recognized institutions.
Candidates applying for Clinical and Non-Clinical posts must have completed one year of Senior Residency after obtaining the required postgraduate qualification. Senior Residency is not mandatory for Super Specialty posts.
Applicants who completed DNB from institutions not recognized by NMC must have completed one additional year of Senior Residency.
Essential Requirements
Registration with the Andhra Pradesh Medical Council is mandatory.
Only local candidates of Andhra Pradesh are eligible. Candidates who studied from Class 4 to Class 10 in Andhra Pradesh are considered local. Candidates who migrated from Telangana to Andhra Pradesh within three years from 2 June 2014 are also eligible.
Candidates already working as Assistant Professors under the Director of Medical Education are not eligible to apply.
Contract service rendered before PG qualification or on a regular basis will not be considered for contract weightage marks.
Age Limit
The minimum age required is 18 years, and the maximum age limit is 42 years.
